Basic No-bake Granola Bar

Master this basic no-bake granola bar recipe and start creating your own healthy snack bars right at home

  • 1½ (90g) cup rolled/quick cooking oats
  • 1 cup (20g) rice crispy cereal
  • ¼ (60g) unsalted butter room temperature
  • ¼ cup maple syrup (honey or agave)
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • pinch of salt
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract (optional)

A few good tips for making granola bars:
(1)Very important to press the granola into the pan firmly. The harder and LONGER you press, the better and firmer the bar will be.

(2)Liquid sugar and brown sugar are essential for keeping the bar together, so don’t skip out on the sugar.

(3)Granola bars can store up to a week in room temperature, make sure to keep them in air-tight container.


  1. Add oats, rice crispy into Ventray Stand Mixer’s mixing bowl
  2. Over medium low heat, mix together butter, brown sugar, syrup, salt, mix until sugar and butter dissolved.
  3. Add wet ingredients into mixing bowl, add in vanilla extract
  4. Using flat beater, mix on low speed for about 3 minutes or until oats well coated
  5. Line baking pan with parchment paper, pour granola mixture into baking pan
  6. Press and hold firmly in the baking pan, repeat for a few rounds
  7. Refrigerate for at least 3 hours, then cut them into desired shape
